It seems like Sophie is changing so much lately. She still has her times of throwing fits for, what seems to me, no reason. But, they are getting to be more spread out and I am understanding her more. This morning, after giving her something, she smiled and said a clear "thank-you." She's been saying it for a while, but it has sounded more like a "tank-to." Josh responded with "wow, there is hope!" Unfortunately, that's the truth! Some days I find myself just looking for a little glimpse of what it could be like or what it may be like soon. Josh and I have been talking about our family's fall schedule and I find myself getting excited because she is starting to do so many more things.
I think of how God feels with us, His children. He must think about that glimpse of how great it could be, when we choose to obey, if we obeyed all the time. He might respond with "wow, there is hope!" Although, I know that I often throw fits, for no reason. I hope that they are getting more spread out as I become more like Christ. In this world where we would like quick service and instant gratification, it is essential to remember God is concerned with our character; our happiness is a byproduct, when it happens.
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
